“Compression! Art and Fire” is produced by Controlled Burn, a group of fire artists who have created and maintained a 501(c)3 federal educational and charitable non-profit.
We are proud of Compression as it is a 100% volunteer “fueled”, performed, and worked event. We try to give small travel stipends and reimburse for expenses to some artists, but no one makes money on Compression. It is our gift to the Truckee Meadows community.
Join us for our 6th annual celebration of fire and performance arts July 27, 2013 as part of Reno’s 18th Artown festival. Downtown Reno’s City Plaza (10 N. Virginia St.) serves as center stage for fire performance, fire sculpture, flame effects, youth and alternative dance, Burning Man theme camps, art cars and mutant vehicles, vendors and skills workshops.
You will experience a slice of Burning Man culture that has grown from the ephemeral Black Rock City. The event is free of charge and in a place that is accessible to all.
