Join us for our 7th annual celebration of fire and performance arts on August 2, 2014 at Wingfield Park. In the style of Burning Man, we bring fire performance, sculpture, flame effects, costuming, youth and alternative dance, music, art cars and mutant vehicles out of the dust and into downtown Reno. We will again offer vendors, skills workshops, arts experiences, costume parades, food and drink.
We need your feedback. We want to incorporate data you provide. Tell us if you attended, booked a hotel room, had a beer, made some friends, participated, want to bring your art, bought a chachki, like more fire, need more music, whatever you need to say. We want to keep your ideas in mind. This community is chock full of great ideas! We hope to keep Compression free, open, and accessible to all. Participate! Reply. We really do need you to impact the event.
“Compression! Art and Fire” is produced by Controlled Burn, a group of fire artists who have created and maintained a 501(c)3 federal educational and 509(a)2 charitable non-profit. Your financial support is deductible up to 50%! Help us out if you feel so inclined by calling Erika at 775-686-9608 for more information, documentation, and other ways to be involved.
We are proud of Compression as it is a 100% volunteer fueled, performed, and worked event. We try to give small travel stipends and reimburse for artist expenses, but no one makes money on Compression. It is our gift to the Truckee Meadows community. Please come and help us celebrate our art and fire!
