Fundraising

We are raising funds through Amazon.com.  All you need do is designate us as your preferred non-profit recipient through Amazon Smile, then shop.   There is no additional cost to you.  Community feedback says how easy this is, so THANK YOU!

If you were going to buy something anyway, and if you shop Amazon.com., Amazon will donate $5 to Controlled Burn for your purchases through March 31! (Purchases after that date still benefit Controlled Burn.)  We will use the Amazon $$ to support artists at Compression events this summer, hopefully without another fundraiser. If you don’t shop Amazon, please choose to buy locally. THANKS!

When you shop at AmazonSmile, Amazon will donate to CONTROLLED BURN FIRE PERFORMANCE….

Compression is funded by arts grants and generous sponsors who care to help us offer richness and diversity in arts experience.  If you wish to become a Compression supporter, please contact us and we’ll schwag you with gratitude!

At each event, happy volunteers (clearly marked as our own peeps) will stroll about to receive donations.  The suggested event donation is $3, but any amount given helps us keep events free to all.  A good opportunity to donate is while completing our event survey, another great way in itself to help the events.

We are generously supported by City of Reno’s Arts and Culture Commission, Special Events Subcommittee, Nevada Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Reno Burners LLC and Sierra Arts Foundation.  If you are just bursting to offer financial support, please contact Mark.  Our private sponsors are many, including CalNeva, Carter Brothers ACE Hardware, ABC Fire and Extinguisher.

Controlled Burn is a federally registered educational non-profit (501(c)3 and 509(a)2), so your donations are tax-deductible at 50%.  If tax relief is not enough incentive, talk to us.  There’s prime seating, display space, schwag, afterparty comps, volunteer opportunities, etc.  No need to stand back and wonder what a donation might do.  You can jump right in !
